Spring is Buzzing

We started this season with a 7 – Work Day Series, beginning with Diggin’ Potatoes. Diggin’ as in really like or enjoy……. for the younger folks. 😉

They have sprouted and we are tickled to see the little spud plants breaking through the soil. When they get a little taller we will cover them with more soil and let them grow a little more and then cover with another layer of soil.

For an added bonus, Mr. Raymond, our master gardener, has sown 7 rows of sweet corn. He enthusiastically informed me today that they have started to sprout, too. 🌽

Next workday will be our Pollinator’s Power day. We will sow sunflowers, wild flowers, and marigolds, as much as time allows. I have personally learned the important roles that bees 🐝 and other beneficial insects play in the overall health and performance of a garden. These bugs 🐞 have the power to deter unwanted insects and to bring forth an abundant harvest. This will be our first year planting flowers. So….. see you in the garden.
