Whewwwwww! Shelisa and I put in another day of hard work. Today we tackled our second raised bed donated to us 3 years ago. Blackberry vines grew rampantly in and around it. It was messy work and painful when the torns got into your skin. Last year, we cut it down some and sprayed weedkiller on them but it only killed some of the vine not all the way down to the roots. So this year I took a shovel and dug my way down to the roots. I was able to pull up most of the roots but not all.

The mustard and collard greens we planted last year are starting to flower so we decided to let it go to seed. So in the spaces inbetween, Shelisa sowed flower seeds. 🌼 We needed pollinators anyway because of the lack bees in our area. These flowers will cover up the ugly spots and bring bees 🐝 to our garden.

We also noticed the watermelons 🍉 we planted 2 weeks ago are starting to sprout along with the onions and peppers in our mini greenhouse! It is always amazing to see seeds turn into plants. We were worried that they might’ve froze when the temp dropped to 22deg one day last week.

All in all it was a good day of work with the spring breeze at our back and bright 🌞 sun in our eyes. We saw signs of spring everywhere!
