Season 2 – Sow to Grow

It’s actually season 4 but the first 2 years we really didn’t get a footing in this garden business. Primarily because I’ve never gardened and the ton of advice that came our way didn’t apply to sandy, nutrient deficient soil. Not having a nearby water source also added to the problems. Then we had the pandemic. Last year we made some headway with a new volunteer-Shelisa under the theme Weed It & Reap. This year’s theme is Sow To Grow!

This season’s Workday #1 began with us trying our hand at plumbing. Shelisa and I installed a waterline with faucet to the meter that was placed near the garden by the town. We were able to complete this mission with a small leak. So we decided to get help tightening the connections. But we have WATER!!!!

So today with the assist from 2 Century residents Robert Tims and Jake Nelson, everything has been tightened up and we’re ready to go! THANK YOU!!!!!

Yes, that’s Shelisa on her stomach lifting the pipe up so I could have some leverage!!!

There are less than 30 days until spring and there’s alot of work to do. We will post our plans for this year in a few days and if you have 2 hours to spare every other Saturday…. join us in our garden adventure. Keep up with us through facebook: @centuryhopegarden . #HopeGrowsInCentury
